Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an HPC & AI Application Performance Engineer to optimise complex HPC and AI workloads. You will work with customers on-site in the UK and with regional teams to maximise performance, scalability, and value from HPC/AI investments.

The role focuses on analysing applications, solving challenging problems, and contributing to cutting‑edge projects in scientific discovery and engineering across a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• UK citizenship with ability to obtain required security clearances for specific UK customer environments.
• Strong HPC and AI architectures, software environments, and performance analysis techniques.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues with engineering/R&D teams.
• Programming experience in C, C++, or Fortran, plus Python.
• Experience with GPU programming technologies (CUDA, OpenACC, or OpenMP Offload).
• Knowledge of MPI and OpenMP parallel frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical expertise to HPC/AI customer environments across EMEA and LATAM.
• On-site with UK customers and remote with wider region.
• Analyze applications to identify performance improvements and scalability opportunities.
• Investigate complex software and infrastructure issues and liaise with R&D.
• Support large HPC/AI bids and tenders with technical input.
• Deliver workshops, training sessions, and technical presentations.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the team.
