Job summary

Arden Resourcing Limited is recruiting an HPC Computational Engineer for an established scientific computing team in Oxfordshire. Onsite with flexible working options, the role focuses on developing high‑performance software and numerical algorithms for large‑scale simulations.

You will optimise compute‑intensive code, explore new HPC technologies and mentor engineers, with a salary of £50,000–£60,000 per year plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong programming in C++, C, Fortran or Rust with Python exposure.
• Hands-on experience with HPC systems and large-scale environments.
• Solid knowledge of numerical methods and scientific algorithms.
• Experience developing, maintaining or optimising compute-intensive software.
• Proficient with Linux/UNIX environments.
• Experience on technically complex software projects.
• Able to investigate challenging problems and devise practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise and maintain high-performance scientific and engineering software.
• Design and implement numerical algorithms for complex problems.
• Build and improve large-scale modelling and simulation applications.
• Evaluate and integrate new HPC technologies including accelerator-based computing.
• Improve software performance, scalability and efficiency across parallel environments.
• Contribute to advanced simulation frameworks and virtual modelling technologies.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to deliver innovative solutions.
• Provide technical direction and mentor other engineers.
• Investigate new computational approaches for long-term technology development.
