Job summary

Hovertravel in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Master to safely operate and command our hovercraft service between Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. You will lead by example, delivering safe, efficient and punctual operations while promoting a strong safety culture and excellent customer experience.

You will provide leadership to crew and operations staff, support training and development, and work closely with engineering and management teams to ensure a reliable and high-quality

Qualifications

  • Valid STCW95 CoC with Master II/2 or II/3 where applicable.
  • Eligible Chief Mate or OOW qualifications subject to MCA upgrade.
  • ENG1 medical certificate and Elementary First Aid.
  • GMDSS Radio Operator Licence and PST.

Responsibilities

  • Command and operate hovercraft in line with SOPs and legislation.
  • Act as Master with full responsibility for safety, compliance and professionalism.
  • Lead crews during normal operations and emergency situations
  • Deliver operational efficiency and punctuality
  • Train, mentor and assess crew members
  • Promote and maintain high safety, environmental and customer service standards
  • Support and develop the Safety Management and Quality Management Systems
  • Act as a professional ambassador for Hovertravel with customers and stakeholders
