Job summary

Cygnet Appletree, near Durham, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe environment for residents. The role is full-time (40 hours per week across 7 days, with weekends on a 4/5 rotation) at the site within a supportive, patient-centered setting.

The successful candidate will have prior housekeeping experience, be reliable and able to follow COSHH guidance, with good communication and a positive attitude. Enhanced DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experienced in cleaning, housekeeping or domestic work (desirable).
• Knowledgeable of COSHH (desirable).
• Friendly, conscientious & have a positive attitude.
• A good communicator.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the site maintains a high level of cleanliness.
• Carry out daily & weekly cleaning regimes.
• Maintain & replenish stock and ensure that equipment is clean & well maintained.
• Employ safe working practices & adhere to health & safety procedures.
• Comply with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

You'll be working full time 40 hours a week (over 7 days - working 5 days a week, working one in 4/5 weekends), at Cygnet Appletree, helping maintain a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care.

Cygnet Appletree, near Durham, is a mental health hospital for women that includes Pippin Ward, a specialist PICU service and Bramley Ward, a personality disorder Intensive support service for women with complex mental health needs. .

Our person-centred service has been designed with wellness in mind, providing a safe and comfortable environment that promotes efficient rehabilitation and recovery. We are dedicated to understand, stabilise and break the traumatic cycles of relapse that can impact service users' lives.
