Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a Support Officer for a temporary 3-month role in Rochester, Kent. The position pays £15.55 per hour PAYE, with responsibilities spanning housing management, customer support, and welfare guidance.

You will develop SMART support plans, handle lettings processes, and ensure accurate records while signposting clients to external resources and benefits. The role requires adherence to safety/compliance and proactive stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing management and support to customers in designated schemes, within policies and agreed standards.
• Provide a high quality support service for customers to achieve their identified outcomes and goals.
• Coordinate services by developing SMART support plans, implementing, monitoring and reviewing documentation on time.
• Ensure accurate record keeping using local case management systems.
• Signpost customers to access external support and resources including healthcare, welfare, DWP and job centres.
• Participate in the selection of new referrals and maintain performance targets on lettings and allocations.
• Explain tenancy/licence agreements, rights, responsibilities and obligations to customers and sign lettings paperwork.
• Help customers apply for housing and council tax benefits.
• Facilitate needs and risk assessments, develop risk management plans and promote customer safety.
• Work to health and safety and compliance policies and procedures.
• Act as an ambassador for the supported housing services with internal and external colleagues.
• Provide information about scheme details, customer handbooks and welcome packs to customers.
• Engage customers and stakeholders in the service and seek feedback to influence service delivery.
• Contribute to income through rents and service charges and manage rent arrears policies with customers.
• Support customers to access welfare benefits and manage debt, developing tailored budget plans.
• Provide resettlement services and signpost to community resources, and engage with local meetings and initiatives.
