Job summary

Aatom Recruitment is seeking a Property Standards and Empty Homes Officer on behalf of a Local Authority in Esher, United Kingdom. This 2‑month contract is for 36 hours per week, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, reflecting the service needs.

You will lead proactive and reactive inspections to improve housing quality, investigate disrepair, enforce where required, and maintain the Private Sector Housing team's records.

Responsibilities

• Proactive and programmed inspections of residential properties.
• Investigate complaints regarding housing disrepair and prepare recommendations for enforcement.
• Inspection, licensing and enforcement of houses in multiple occupation under supervision.
• Inspection, licensing and enforcement of mobile home/caravan sites.
• Lead on promotion and monitoring of empty homes and bringing them back into use.
• Use the Renters Rights Act to support well-managed rented housing and collaborate with tenants, landlords and colleagues.
