Job summary

Ealing Council is seeking five Housing Solutions Officers to work full time on a career graded scale. The role focuses on preventing homelessness, advising residents, and delivering housing solutions to secure affordable housing and end rough sleeping in the borough.

As a Housing Solutions Officer you will interview customers, assess eligibility, and support them through housing pathways while administering the Housing Register and ensuring legal compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of interviewing and casework in a housing or related field.
• Thorough knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Part VII, as amended and other relevant legislation, and associated case law.
• Experience of working as a member of a team in a busy customer services environment.
• Ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence through English.
• You must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Interview and advise customers, carry out assessments and identify practical housing solutions.
• Provide clear advice on eligibility for housing assistance and rehousing options.
• Administer the Council's Housing Register and explain housing pathways.
