Job summary

BCP Council is seeking a Housing Options Officer to join our dynamic team on a 12 month fixed term contract. You will provide housing advice and support to residents, handling a caseload with empathy and solutions-focused thinking.

The role involves working in the office, in the community and at home, with hybrid and flexible working options. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are preferred to enable local visits and outreach.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people in an advice or problem-solving capacity.
• Ability to communicate effectively to understand a customer’s needs and how to help to resolve their housing situation.
• Holistic approach to problem solving and ability to manage a caseload within competing demands.
• Collaboration with residents, other services and colleagues to find lasting solutions.
• Hybrid working options and flexible working arrangements preferred.
