Job summary

Birmingham City Council is inviting applications for a Service Charge Manager to oversee housing service charges across tenanted and leasehold properties. Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or management qualification is required or evidenced by CPD.
• Three years’ experience in a social housing environment in a management role.
• In-depth knowledge of rent and service charge legislation and residential leases.
• Excellent leadership, communication and customer care skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of service charge calculations, invoicing, estimates and final accounts with statutory and contractual compliance.
• Manage annual service charge budgeting, estimation and year-end reconciliation across all tenures.
• Identify recoverable charges and maximise lawful income to the Housing Revenue Account (HRA).
• Develop and lead the Service Charge Team, collaborating with residents and other council teams.
