Job summary

Mears is seeking a General Operative to join a team of ten, performing repairs and refurbishments on housing properties. You will deliver high-quality service, ensure safety and cost controls, and use a PDA for task processing. DBS checks are required before starting, and UK work entitlement is essential.

Candidates should have a full UK driving licence and be able to work independently or in a team, with a strong focus on customer service and asset care across social housing contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience working in social housing or council contracts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of repairs and refurbishment tasks to a high standard.
• Deliver excellent customer service to tenants and residents.
• Process all tasks electronically using a handheld device (PDA).
• Maintain company assets in good condition and report damages to supervisor/manager.
• Manage materials by using stock or collecting items per purchasing/stock control procedures.
