Job summary

Mears Group PLC in Brent, Northwest London, is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Operative to join a busy responsive repairs contract. You will carry out day-to-day repairs across occupied properties, covering carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and more, delivering safe, high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Working 42.5 hours per week (8-5, Monday to Friday) on a full-time permanent basis, you will need a full UK driving licence and be comfortable using handheld devices to

Qualifications

• Experience across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating in domestic repairs.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong fault-finding skills.
• Excellent customer service in occupied homes.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Experience using handheld devices or job management systems.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across occupied and void social housing properties.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves and internal door frames.
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors.
• Repair internal doors, handles, locks and hinges.
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks.
• Carry out patch plastering and make good damaged walls or ceilings.
• Complete wall and floor tiling repairs including grouting and sealing.
• Paint and decorate to a professional finish after repair works.
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.
• Work in occupied properties with sensitivity to residents' needs.
• Participate in out-of-hours emergency repair rota.
• Record job details and materials used using handheld devices or job sheets.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle.
• Manage daily workload to meet service level targets.
