Vivid Resourcing is helping Braintree District Council fill a Housing Options Team Leader role on a 3-month interim basis. The post is 40.00–45.00 per hour (umbrella) and requires you to be in the office in Braintree three days a week.

You will lead day-to-day delivery of a responsive, customer-focused housing options and homelessness service. You will deputise for the Housing Options Manager when required and ensure timely advice, intervention and statutory duties are met, while maintaining

Qualifikationen

• Proven track record in housing options and homelessness services.
• Strong knowledge of Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and related legislation.
• Experience leading a team and delivering customer-focused services.

Vivid Resourcing is supporting Braintree District Council to recruit an experienced Housing Options Team Leader for a 3-month interim assignment. This is an immediate need, so you'll need to be available at short notice.

About the role

You'll lead the day-to-day delivery of a responsive, customer-focused and legally compliant Housing Options and Homelessness Service. Your focus will be preventing and relieving homelessness through timely advice, assistance and intervention. You'll be the team's go-to for professional guidance and quality assurance, and you'll step up to deputise for the Housing Options Manager when needed.

What you'll do

• Supervise, support and manage the performance of Housing Options Officers, Triage Officers and wider team members


• Guide officers on complex and sensitive cases


• Make sure statutory homelessness duties are met, with consistent, thorough and professional assessment of every application


• Carry out quality checks on casework and decision-making


• Represent the service at internal and external meetings


• Help develop referral arrangements and protocols with statutory agencies, housing providers and the voluntary sector

What you'll bring

• A proven track record in housing options and homelessness


• Excellent working knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002, Localism Act 2011 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017


• The ability to analyse, interpret and apply complex homelessness case law


• Experience managing, motivating and supervising a team


• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills


• A calm, customer-focused and non-judgemental approach, even under pressure
