Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking an experienced Housing Options Officer to join the Housing team on a temporary basis in Chatham. You will provide specialist housing advice, support vulnerable households, and manage a caseload with emphasis on homelessness prevention.

The role requires knowledge of homelessness legislation, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work with partners. The position is a 3-6 month contract with pay £20.70 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing options or homelessness prevention.
• Knowledge of Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act.
• Experience with case management and working with vulnerable households.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing advice and practical support to individuals and families in housing need.
• Undertake homelessness assessments and determine duties and interventions.
• Work to prevent homelessness through negotiation and support planning.
• Develop Personal Housing Plans tailored to each client.
• Assist clients in accessing social housing, private rentals, and supported housing.
• Liaise with landlords, housing providers, and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with legislation.
• Attend case conferences and multi-agency meetings.
