Job summary

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic Housing Options Officer to work with households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to retain or secure accommodation. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and experience with interviews, investigations and negotiations.

You will join the Housing Options Team at Brocks Hill, Oadby. The position is temporary full-time with agile/hybrid working; a DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in a similar housing options role.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience conducting interviews.
• Experience conducting investigations and negotiations.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work with households who are homeless or at risk to retain or secure accommodation.
• Advise customers on housing options if they are homeless or about to be homeless.
