Job summary

Leeds City Council is seeking a Housing Adviser to join the homelessness service. You will deliver housing options face-to-face and via telephone/email, assess housing needs, and secure suitable temporary and longer-term accommodation.

The role involves caseload management, writing decision letters, and building partnerships with third-sector and housing providers. You will engage with applicants to complete homeless applications, identify support needs, and develop personalised housing plans.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with homeless and other people in housing need.
• Awareness of housing options law and policy.
• Experience of working in a multi-agency partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a face to face housing options service to homeless or at risk individuals at multiple locations.
• Carry out homeless and housing need assessments and determine suitable housing options.
• Manage your own caseload and complete homeless applications and referrals.
• Write homeless decision letters within the legal framework.
• Work with partners across public, private and third sector to secure accommodation.
