Job description
  • The Housing Officer will provide high-quality housing advice and tenancy management services to tenants, leaseholders, and applicants throughout Nottingham City. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and best practices, supporting customers in accessing and maintaining safe, decent, and affordable homes., Deliver excellent housing, tenancy, and estate management services in accordance with statutory requirements and council policies.
  • Offer housing advice on lettings, allocations, mutual exchanges, and tenancy changes.
  • Support tenants with rent queries, benefits advice, and referrals to financial inclusion services.
  • Manage garage applications, waiting lists, allocations, and conduct site visits.
  • Respond professionally and empathetically to customer inquiries, complaints, and councillor queries.
  • Assist with issues such as anti-social behavior, tenancy fraud, safeguarding, and vulnerability concerns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to effectively resolve customer issues.
  • Manage keys for empty properties and garages, ensuring appropriate property security.
    Previous experience in housing services or a similar customer-focused role.
  • Experience handling tenancy management, allocations, and estate issues.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging situations and resolve problems effectively., GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths - essential.
  • Relevant housing qualification (e.g., CIH Level 3 or above) - desirable.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and best practices - desirable.
