Job summary

ESSENTIAL EMPLOYMENT LTD is recruiting a Housing Officer in Croydon to manage a portfolio of residential properties and serve as the main point of contact for tenants. The role is on a full-time temporary basis with a pay rate of £22.41 per hour.

The successful candidate will deliver tenancy management services, investigate tenancy breaches, handle ASB cases, conduct property visits and audits, and liaise with repairs, legal and community safety teams to resolve issues and protect residents’

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of residential properties and act as the main point of contact for tenants.
• Deliver effective tenancy management services, including tenancy sign-ups, reviews, successions, assignments, and mutual exchanges.
• Investigate and resolve breaches of tenancy agreements in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, gathering evidence and working with relevant agencies to achieve successful outcomes.
• Conduct tenancy audits, estate inspections, property visits, and neighbourhood walkabouts.
• Support residents to sustain tenancies and access appropriate support services where required.
• Respond to resident enquiries, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and housing-related issues.
• Liaise with repairs, maintenance, legal, compliance, and community safety teams to resolve issues effectively.
• Prepare case files, reports, witness statements, and supporting documentation for legal proceedings where necessary.
• Monitor neighbourhood standards and address environmental concerns affecting residents.
• Build positive relationships with residents, community groups, and partner organisations.
• Maintain accurate records and case management information in line with data protection requirements.
• Ensure compliance with housing legislation, policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Support service improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving performance targets.
