Job summary

Fife Council is seeking a Housing Management Officer to oversee a designated neighbourhood and sustain tenancies while delivering high quality landlord services across multiple locations in Fife.

You will work with tenants and local partners, including Tenants and Residents groups, to improve estates and ensure access to good housing. Evening meetings may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Scottish Secure Tenancies and Short Scottish Secure Tenancies.
  • Experience of working with a range of supports available to tenants.
  • Experience of partnership working and managing tenancies.
  • Good time management, communications and organisational skills.
  • Educated to SCQF level 5 or equivalent; undertaking SVQ4 in Housing and Housing Law Advice 2 if not already held.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality landlord services to sustain tenancies.
  • Engage with customers face to face daily and work with partners to drive improvements.
  • Support tenants and Residents groups to achieve housing improvements.

Salary: FC6 £31,761.26 to £34,914.86 pro rata.

Working Pattern: 36 Hours per week

  • Kirkcaldy - 1 x Full Time Temporary (Until July 2027)
  • Methil - 1 x Full Time Temporary (Until March 2027)

As a Housing Management Officer, you will form part of an Area Housing Team.

You will be responsible for a specific neighbourhood, ensuring high quality, well-run estates through the assessment of need of individuals, properties and neighbourhoods, followed by the development of solutions which range from prescribed processes to self-developed initiatives.

You will deliver high-quality landlord services to build stable communities by sustaining tenancies and engaging with customers face to face on a daily basis and partners to make required improvements, which also includes supporting local Tenants and Residents groups.

This may require attendance at evening meetings.

You will be able to provide high standards of Customer Care while encouraging and assisting tenants to maintain their tenancies and estates.

The Person
  • We are looking for an individual who has working knowledge of the Scottish Secure and Short Scottish Secure Tenancies and who has experience of working with a range of Supports available to tenants.
  • You will have to have experience of partnership working and managing tenancies.
  • You will be committed to assisting tenants to sustain their tenancy, while also taking action against any breaches of tenancy.
  • You will need to have good time management, communications and organisational skills. You will also possess IT Skills.
  • You will be educated to SCQF level 5 or equivalent and you will require (if you do not already hold this) to undertake the SVQ4 in Housing and Housing Law Advice 2 qualifications.
