Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is helping Hackney Council fill a Technical Support Officer role in London. The position focuses on managing a social housing portfolio, overseeing repairs, inspections, specs, and contractor performance within a proactive Housing Services team.

The role requires strong experience in housing maintenance, surveys, and property inspection, with a must-have knowledge of HHSRS, health and safety, and CDM 2015 regulations. A UK driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing maintenance, repairs, surveying, or property inspection.
• Essential knowledge and experience with HHSRS.
• Strong grasp of building defects and property construction.
• Experience inspecting domestic housing stock, including high-rise buildings.
• Experience in preparing: Estimates, Specifications, Survey reports, Works orders.
• Solid understanding of Building Maintenance, Responsive Repairs, Health & Safety Legislation, CDM 2015 Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Surveying & Technical Support: Conduct inspections and surveys in response to repair requests.
• Contractor Management: Oversee contractor and DLO performance; post-inspections for quality.
• Resident & Stakeholder Management: Serve as primary contact; respond to residents and stakeholders.
• Compliance & Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to HHSRS, Health & Safety, CDM 2015; promote safe working practices.
