Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a qualified solicitor or barrister for a 3 month interim role in London to provide expert legal advice and manage housing litigation for a local authority. You will handle a varied caseload, draft documentation, and advocate where appropriate, while ensuring compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements.

The role focuses on housing management, ASB injunctions, possession proceedings, disrepair claims, and related litigation.

Qualifications

Qualified Solicitor with a current Practising Certificate or Barrister with rights to conduct litigation.
Significant experience in Housing Litigation and Landlord & Tenant Law.
Experience managing a complex caseload independently.
Strong knowledge of housing management, tenancy enforcement, and civil litigation procedures.
Excellent drafting, advocacy, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Manage a diverse caseload of housing litigation and contentious landlord & tenant matters.
Provide legal advice on housing management issues and tenancy enforcement.
Draft and file court documents including claims, defences, witnesses statements and injunctions.
Instruct and manage external solicitors and counsel as needed.
Deliver practical legal training and updates to colleagues on housing law changes.
