Job summary

Service Care Legal is recruiting on behalf of a housing association to appoint an experienced Housing Litigation Solicitor on a temporary basis to advise on housing management and landlord and tenant disputes. The role is based in London with hybrid working.

You will handle a varied caseload, draft court documents, and assist with advocacy and external instruction while supporting junior colleagues within the legal team.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with strong housing law and litigation experience.
• Excellent legal drafting, communication and case management skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive matters and build effective stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering ASB injunctions, possession proceedings, tenancy fraud, housing disrepair and debt recovery.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, injunction applications and court documentation.
• Undertake advocacy where appropriate (excluding trials).
• Instruct external solicitors and counsel, provide legal updates and support junior colleagues.

Rate

£60.29ph (Umbrella), £52.78ph (PAYE inc. holiday pay), £47.10ph (PAYE exc. holiday pay)

Contract

3 months with possibility of extension

Office attendance

4 days per week in the office for 4 weeks, then 3 days until week 12, then 2 days
