Job summary

The Oyster Partnership is seeking an experienced Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor for a 3-month contract with a Local Authority in the Greater London area. Hybrid working is offered with attendance two days per week.

You will manage a busy housing litigation caseload, undertake regular advocacy and court attendance, and advise on homelessness, disrepair, ASB, and possession/repossession issues. The contract offers potential for extension and a hands-on environment within a busy council

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer.
• Local authority housing litigation experience.
• Experience managing housing possession and repossession proceedings.
• Strong advocacy experience and confidence attending court.
• Knowledge of homelessness, housing disrepair, and ASB matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full housing litigation caseload from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• Attend court and undertake advocacy approximately once per week.
• Handle housing possession and repossession proceedings.

Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor - Hybrid Opportunity

I'm currently working with a Local Authority in the Glastonbury area seeking an experienced Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor to support their Housing Legal Team.

Initial 3-Month Contract (strong likelihood of extension)

£55-£65 per hour

Hybrid Working (2 days per week attendance required)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy local authority legal team, managing a varied housing litigation caseload while undertaking regular advocacy and court attendance.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a full housing litigation caseload from start to finish with minimal supervision
• Attending court and undertaking advocacy approximately once per week
• Handling housing possession and repossession proceedings
• Managing rent arrears cases
• Advising on homelessness matters
• Dealing with housing disrepair claims
• Managing antisocial behaviour (ASB) cases and injunction applications
• Handling gas injunction matters
