QED Legal LLP is seeking a Housing Disrepair Fee Earner, Solicitor, Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join its Bolton-based team. The role offers mostly remote work with one day per week in the Bolton office and a salary of £30,000 - £50,000 DOE.

You will manage own caseload from instruction to settlement or trial, draft letters of claim and documents, gather evidence from surveyors and experts, and negotiate settlements to secure the best outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills.
• Applications welcomed from Legal Assistants, Paralegals, Fee Earners, Litigation Executives, Chartered Legal Executives and Solicitors.
• Housing Disrepair experience is highly desirable.
• Candidates with experience in claimant or civil litigation may be considered for specialist role.
• Familiarity with Civil Procedure Rules and case management systems like Proclaim is advantageous.
• A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.

The Role:

• Case Management: Manage your own caseload of claimant Housing Disrepair matters from initial instruction through to settlement or trial, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements and delivering excellent client care throughout.
• Legal Drafting: Prepare letters of claim, pleadings, witness statements, court documents, schedules of loss, instructions to experts, and settlement documentation.
• Evidence Gathering: Liaise with surveyors, medical experts, local authorities, housing associations, and other third parties to obtain evidence, assess liability, and progress claims efficiently.
• Litigation & Negotiation: Conduct settlement negotiations, manage litigated matters, prepare trial bundles where required, and work proactively to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

The Individual:

• Applications are welcomed from Legal Assistants, Paralegals, Fee Earners, Litigation Executives, Chartered Legal Executives and Solicitors.
• Previous experience within Housing Disrepair is highly desirable.
• Candidates with experience in claimant litigation or wider civil litigation who are looking to specialise will also be considered.
• Confident managing your own workload, with the level of autonomy dependent upon your experience.
• Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules and case management systems such as Proclaim would be advantageous.
• A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
