Job summary

BCL Legal is seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Case Handler in Manchester to manage your own caseload from instruction through to settlement, including research and drafting. The role is hybrid, with four days in the office during probation and a Monday-Thursday schedule.

The ideal candidate will have proven Fast Track Litigation experience, strong drafting, negotiation and client communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience handling Fast Track Litigation.
• Experience in Housing Disrepair is advantageous.
• Experience managing a caseload from instruction through to settlement.
• Strong drafting, research and negotiation skills.
• Excellent client communication and ability to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of Housing Disrepair claims from instruction to resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings and correspondence.
• Negotiate settlements with clients, opponents and insurers.
• Maintain strong client communication and case management.
• Collaborate with a wider team while working in a hybrid environment.

Housing Disrepair Case Handler - Manchester

£35,000 - £45,000 DOE | Hybrid

I'm currently working with an established law firm in Manchester that is looking to add experienced Housing Disrepair Case Handlers to its growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid Fast Track Litigation background who is looking to develop their experience within Housing Disrepair.

The role will involve managing your own caseload of Housing Disrepair claims, from initial instruction through to resolution, including legal research, drafting, client contact, negotiation and settlement.

The role:

£35,000 - £45,000 basic, dependent on experience

Monday-Thursday 9am-5.30pm, Friday 9am-2pm

Hybrid working available - 4 days in the office during the 3-month probation, reducing to 3 days thereafter

25 days' annual leave + bank holidays

Established and growing team

Strong focus on client service and quality of work

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience handling Fast Track Litigation - essential
• Housing Disrepair experience - advantageous
• Experience managing a caseload from instruction through to settlement
• Strong drafting, research and negotiation skills
• Excellent client communication skills
• The ability to work independently while being part of a wider team
