Job Description - Housing Concierge (25941)

Location: Cramlington, Northumberland – across local services

Pay: £12.60 per hour (salary £24,638 pa [pro rata]) and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

We’re looking for new Supported Housing Concierges to join our growing teams. At Home Group, we care for our vulnerable customers, including those with complex care needs. Your role will be to ensure our customers' safety, maintain secure and pleasant buildings, and foster good relations with our neighbors.

Typical shift as a Housing Concierge

  • This role is active and involves more than just night security or monitoring CCTV; it’s about supporting our customers directly.
  • You will be the first line of support when our wider team or customers’ support networks are unavailable.
  • You will manage health and safety protocols, patrol to check fire doors, and ensure premises are secure.
  • You must be able to respond swiftly to situations, such as investigating suspicious activity or raising alarms to engage emergency services.
  • If time permits, you may also assist with cleaning and general maintenance tasks.

What you bring

  • Calmness under pressure and excellent communication skills
  • Experience in supporting vulnerable individuals, possibly from public service or military backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills, interest in people, and keen observational abilities to notice behavioral changes
  • Confidence to intervene sensitively when needed
  • A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently, supported by our wider team including out-of-hours emergency support

Job details

  • Two-week rolling rota
  • Occasional lone working with regular daytime team meetings and training
  • Ability to use technology for CCTV monitoring, record-keeping, and health & safety compliance
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required; we will cover the cost
