Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking an experienced Housing Compliance Manager to lead our compliance services and ensure safe, well-maintained homes that meet the highest regulatory standards.

In this leadership role you will oversee compliance programmes, manage contractors, lead audits and inspections, monitor performance and risk, and develop a high-performing team while keeping resident safety at the heart of all compliance work.

Qualifications

• Has substantial experience in housing compliance, asset management or a related field.
• Understands housing legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice.
• Can confidently manage contracts, budgets, risk and performance.
• Has strong leadership skills and a track record of developing successful teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of housing compliance programmes ensuring statutory landlord obligations are met.
• Maintain strategic oversight of compliance risks across the housing portfolio, ensuring remedial actions arising from inspections.
• Ensure resident health, safety and wellbeing remain central to all compliance activities by supporting effective engagement and communication on compliance works.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and regulatory requirements by leading internal and external audits and inspections.
