Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking Housing Casework Officers to join the statutory homelessness team in Housing Solutions. The role focuses on preventing homelessness and ensuring citizens receive necessary housing assistance. A DBS check is required, and the post supports hybrid working arrangements.

Starting salary £33,673 rising to £36,581 per annum, pro rata for part-time, with a commitment to a high quality service and collaborative cross-sector work to improve housing outcomes.

Qualifications

• Good operational working knowledge of Homelessness and related legislation.
• Good operational working knowledge of housing legislation in public and private sectors.
• Ability to communicate complex issues face-to-face with tact and customer care.
• Ability to manage a complex workload under pressure meeting targets and deadlines.
• Commitment to providing a high quality, customer-focused service.
• Ability to work in partnership across sectors and maintain good relationships.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Good operational working knowledge of Homelessness and associated legislation and an ability to advise on and decide any duties owed to citizens for the Authority
• Good operational working knowledge of housing legislation in both the public and private sector
• An ability to communicate complex issues on a face to face basis, demonstrating tact, diplomacy, sensitivity and customer care
• An ability to effectively manage a complex workload under pressure meeting specified targets and deadlines whilst demonstrating attention to detail, prioritisation and self-organisation skills
• A commitment to providing a high quality customer focussed service
• An ability to work successfully in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
