Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Social Lettings Officer to enhance access to private sector housing and play a pivotal role in preventing homelessness. You will lead early intervention efforts and work with stakeholders to develop strategies improving housing options for the community.

The role requires knowledge of housing legislation across sectors, property assessment skills, and experience with those at risk of homelessness. DBS check is required; hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Good operational knowledge of housing legislation in both the public and private sectors.
• Ability to visit and assess the property for design, space, and location for suitability.
• Experienced with individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and understand the complexity of need.
• Ability to visit and inspect properties to identify hazards, safety standards and disrepair, with remedial-action recommendations.
• Commitment to providing a high-quality customer-focused service.
• A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
