Job summary

Southern Domestic Abuse Service is looking for a dedicated professional to support victims of domestic abuse in New Forest. This permanent role involves providing intensive support, crisis intervention, and advocacy to help victims navigate housing options and prevent homelessness.

Working 22.5 hours per week, you will collaborate with local authorities to enhance service responses. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this role. We encourage applications from under-represented BAMER communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing crisis intervention and support to victims of domestic abuse.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
• Knowledge of housing options and service provision relevant to homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive support to victims/survivors and their children.
• Deliver high-quality advocacy and proactive support.
• Facilitate training sessions to increase knowledge about domestic abuse.

Main purpose and scope of the job

• Working within dispersed accommodation provided by Eastleigh District Council to provide intensive support to the victim / survivor and their child(ren) living within the properties.
• Providing high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to victims / survivors who access the Housing and Homelessness Service.
• Working with colleagues to increase knowledge and develop responses to victims and survivors of domestic abuse through formal and informal training sessions, including colocation within the council.
• Providing resettlement support to victims of domestic abuse moving on from Stop Domestic Abuse safe accommodation.
• Supporting victims to understand their housing options to aid in the prevention/relief of homelessness and access or maintain suitable, safe accommodation.
