Job summary

Stop Domestic Abuse is seeking a part-time housing support worker to provide crisis intervention and advocacy to victims/survivors accessing the Housing and Homelessness Service. The role includes preparing information and supporting access to safe accommodation within dispersed housing provisions.

Applicants should have trauma-informed approach experience and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and local authorities. The post is permanent and requires an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to victims/survivors accessing the Housing and Homelessness Service.
• Work with colleagues to increase knowledge and develop responses to victims/survivors through training sessions, including council colocation.
• Provide resettlement support to victims moving on from Stop Domestic Abuse safe accommodation.
• Support victims in understanding housing options to prevent homelessness and secure safe accommodation.

Main purpose and scope of the job

• Working within domestic abuse dispersed accommodation provided by the local authority providing support to the victim/survivor
• Providing high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to victims / survivors who access the Housing and Homelessness Service
• Working with colleagues to increase knowledge and develop responses to victims and survivors of domestic abuse through formal and informal training sessions, this includes colocation within the council.
• Providing resettlement support to victims of domestic abuse moving on from Stop Domestic Abuse safe acccommodation
• Supporting victims to understand their housing options to aid in the prevention/relief of homelessness and access or maintain suitable, safe accommodation.
