Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a large team of Housekeeping Assistants, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness across clinical and non-clinical areas. You'll allocate daily work, monitor performance, and supervise staff on shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

Experience supervising housekeeping or facilities teams in a healthcare or similar environment.
Knowledge of cleaning standards and infection control practices.
Ability to allocate rosters and manage staffing levels.
Strong leadership and communication skills with frontline staff.
Willingness to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Allocate daily work and rosters to all Housekeeping Assistants.
Monitor cleanliness standards across clinical and non-clinical areas.
Ensure staff understand duties and have necessary training and materials.
Conduct regular quality checks and report findings for corrective action.
Perform specialist cleaning tasks such as floor polishing, carpet cleaning and descaling as required.
