Job summary

East Kent Colleges Group is seeking a Housekeeping Team Leader to lead our Estates Department at Canterbury College. You will motivate a team of housekeepers and uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to create welcoming spaces for students.

This 15-hour-per-week role runs 05:30–08:30 across Monday to Friday, with a salary of £11,598 per annum. Experience in a commercial cleaning environment and a Level 2 English & Maths qualification (or willingness to work towards) is preferred.

  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain high standards of work.
  • Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to work towards these qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of cleaning tasks and adherence to industry practices.
  • Operate and use cleaning machinery as required.

About The Role

We are looking for a Team Leader to lead our Housekeeping team and ensure high-quality, welcoming spaces where students can thrive.

As a Housekeeping Team leader, to join the Group. You will join our high performing housekeeping team within the busy Estates Department at Canterbury College.

You will have a positive attitude, with the ability to motivate and lead a team of housekeepers while maintaining high levels of cleanliness & hygiene. You will also be able to perform the array of cleaning tasks including the use of machinery widely used in the industry.

Role details:

This position is 15 hours per week working 05:30 to 08:30 across Monday to Friday, with a salary of £11,598 per annum.

About You

Ideally you will have previous experience of team leadership and cleaning in a commercial environment as well as the ability to learn quickly and maintain high standards of work.

You will also have a Level 2 qualification in English & Maths or be willing to work towards these (the College will support with such qualifications)

A health & safety certificate would be of benefit but not essential as training is provided.
