Job summary

East Kent Colleges Group is seeking a proactive Housekeeping Team Leader at Broadstairs College to supervise daily cleaning operations, motivate staff and uphold high hygiene standards across the college estate.

Based in the Estates Department, you will implement safe cleaning practices, manage a 30-hour work week, and foster a welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors while ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

About The Role

Do you take pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments?Lead our Housekeeping Team and Ensure Quality in the Spaces where Students to Succeed

EKC Group are seeking proactive and motivated Housekeeping Team Leader to lead our Housekeeping team and help maintain high standards across the College. You will be responsible for supervising daily cleaning activities, supporting and motivating staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, and contributing to an environment where students, staff, and visitors can thrive. You will be based at Broadstairs College and work within our busy Estates Department.

The post holder will have a positive attitude, with the ability to motivate and lead a team of housekeepers while maintaining high levels of cleanliness & hygiene. You will also be able to perform the array of cleaning tasks including the use of machinery widely used in the industry.

Key Details:

Salary: £24,008 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours per week: 30

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday split shift 05:30 to 09:30 & 16:00 to 18:00

About You

Successful candidates will preferably have previous experience of team leadership and cleaning in a commercial environment as well as the ability to learn quickly and maintain high standards of work.

You will also have a Level 2 qualification in English & Maths or be willing to work towards these (the College will support with such qualifications).

A health & safety certificate would be of benefit but not essential as training is provided.
