Job summary

Crystal Care Collection in the United Kingdom is seeking a Head Housekeeper to lead the domestic team and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in a luxury care home in Bexhill-on-Sea. The role offers a permanent contract and a structured career path with ongoing training.

You will oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensure safety and compliance, and collaborate with staff across departments to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for residents.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the housekeeping team to deliver high cleanliness standards.
• Ensure bedrooms, communal areas and facilities are maintained to the required standard.
• Organise daily workloads and monitor quality of tasks.
• Promote a positive team culture and provide coaching.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and infection prevention controls.
• Monitor supplies and report maintenance or stock issues.
• Build positive relationships with residents while respecting dignity and privacy.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Support the General Manager in maintaining presentation and cleanliness.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Housekeeping Team Leader / Head Housekeeper to lead our domestic team and ensure every area of the home is maintained to the highest possible standard.

About the Role

As Head Housekeeper, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, comfortable and homely environment for our residents. Leading by example, you'll oversee the day-to-day housekeeping operation, ensuring outstanding cleanliness throughout the home while supporting and motivating your team.

You'll work closely with colleagues across the home and build positive relationships with residents, making a genuine difference to their daily lives through attention to detail and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the housekeeping team to deliver consistently high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
• Ensure all bedrooms, communal areas and facilities are maintained to an exceptional standard in line with cleaning schedules and company procedures.
• Organise daily workloads and monitor quality to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
• Promote a positive, supportive and professional team culture, providing guidance and coaching where required.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, Infection Prevention & Control and all relevant legislation.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting maintenance issues or stock requirements promptly.
• Build positive relationships with residents, respecting their dignity, privacy and individual preferences at all times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to create a welcoming and comfortable environment.
• Support the General Manager in maintaining the presentation and cleanliness expected within a luxury care home.

About You

• Has previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Takes pride in delivering exceptionally high standards.
• Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Is approachable, positive and enjoys supporting and developing others.
• Has a keen eye for detail and works proactively.
• Enjoys building relationships with residents and contributing to a warm, caring atmosphere.
• Is reliable, self-motivated and committed to creating an environment where people feel truly at home.

Working Pattern

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Average 35 hours per week

Pay

£14.05 per hour
