Job summary

Etive House Care Home is located in the village of Benderloch near Oban and offers small-group living accommodation for up to 62 residents. We are seeking a Housekeeping and Laundry Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and to support laundry services.

You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas; assist with washing, drying and ironing; and follow infection control and health and safety procedures to ensure high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene standards.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing with items clearly labelled.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.

Job description

Located in the beautiful village of Benderloch by Oban, we offer small group living accommodation for up to 62-residents.

Housekeeping / Laundry Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 32 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
