MAIN SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Floor Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner.

They will coordinate daily housekeeping operations and maintain the housekeeping standards across shifts, including early, evening, and office hours.

Additionally, they are responsible for delivering excellent guest service.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the performance of room attendants, house porters, and linen porters.
  • Supervise room attendants.
  • Organize and facilitate the room cleaning process.
  • Daily allocation of rooms and deep cleaning tasks to team members.
  • Ensure all housekeeping staff members have arrived or arrange substitutes for absent employees.
  • Prepare and distribute the room assignment sheet and floor keys to room attendants.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of guest rooms, corridors, and pantries.
  • Check occupied and departure rooms, paying special attention to guest needs.
  • Manage guest requests, including VIP amenities, and communicate them to relevant team members.
  • Inspect all guest bedrooms to ensure they meet standards.
  • Be aware of all room categories and amenities.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Handle lost property according to proper procedures.
  • Report maintenance issues to the maintenance department.
  • Provide on-the-job training and assist other departments as needed, maintaining good relationships.
  • Work flexible hours as per the departmental rota.
  • Protect guest and colleague security by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Have knowledge of room types, facilities, and guest services within the hotel.
  • Perform any other reasonable requests from the head housekeeper.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work in a busy, customer-oriented environment with a keen eye for detail, maintaining high standards.
  • Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Committed to high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Flexible to respond to various work situations.
