Job summary

Elizabeth Finn Homes is seeking a compassionate Housekeeping Assistant for Eversfield Care Home in Reigate. You will clean bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms and offices to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for residents, working alongside catering and care teams to deliver prompt and courteous service.

The role is full-time and permanent, offering 32.5 hours per week on a fixed schedule, with 8:00am–3:00pm shifts and alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• Good general education.
• Basic Food Awareness Certificate or NVQ Level 2 desirable.
• In good general health to meet the requirements of the role.
• Empathy with older people.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high‑quality cleaning across all areas, including bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms, offices, corridors, windows, and fixtures.
• Follow agreed cleaning procedures and hygiene standards to prevent cross‑infection and maintain a safe environment.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and correctly, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
• Take responsibility for Health & Safety and COSHH compliance, reporting hazards, accidents, or concerns without delay.
• Work effectively to schedules and time limits, supporting colleagues, attending training/meetings, and reporting any resident concerns to care or nursing staff.

About The Role
