Job summary

The Lodge, a Victorian house in Exeter, is seeking a compassionate Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents. You will work alongside our catering and care teams to deliver prompt, courteous service.

The role is part-time (24 hours over a 7-day rota) with an hourly rate of £13.45. We welcome applicants with good general education; Basic Food Awareness Certificate or NVQ level 2 is desirable, and empathy with older people is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality cleaning across all areas including bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms, offices, corridors, windows and fixtures.
• Follow agreed cleaning procedures and hygiene standards to prevent cross-infection and maintain a safe environment.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and report faults promptly.
• Take responsibility for Health & Safety and COSHH compliance, reporting hazards, accidents, or concerns without delay.
• Work effectively to schedules and time limits, supporting colleagues, attending training/meetings, and reporting any resident concerns to care or nursing staff.
• Ensure residents receive prompt and courteous service.

Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour

Contract: Part time contract

Shifts: 24 hours over a 7 day rota to include every other weekend, Elizabeth Finn Homes do not currently provide sponsorship, but we welcome applications from those who have a right work in the UK.
