Job summary

Southampton Manor Care Home, part of Avery Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to maintain cleanliness and laundry across the home, following worksheet instructions and hotel-style standards. You will work as part of a team, be adaptable to cover tasks at short notice, and apply knowledge of health and safety, including moving and handling and COSHH.

A DBS check is required and applicants must prove eligibility to work in the UK; opportunities to learn and develop

Qualifications

• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Knowledge of health and safety, including moving and handling, fire safety and COSHH assessments.
• Compassion and commitment to high‑quality housekeeping and laundry service.
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties in line with worksheet instructions.
• Maintain standards of cleanliness and laundry across the home.
• Work to standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry.
• Maintain hotel service standards.
• Apply knowledge of cleaning requirements for different surfaces, coverings and cleaning materials.
• Keep all areas well presented and in good condition.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect, including their personal space and belongings.
• Work as part of a team.
