Job summary

St Peter & St James Hospice in North Chailey is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Assistant to keep patient rooms, corridors and communal areas clean to a high standard. You’ll work 22.5 hours across five days, supporting a welcoming and respectful environment for patients, families and staff.

The role emphasizes infection control, safety and confidentiality, with opportunities to contribute to a compassionate, values-driven team that makes a local difference.

Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles (desirable but not essential).
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and understanding of health and safety.

  • Organised and able to work to deadlines.

As Housekeeping Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across our hospice, ensuring a safe and comforting space for patients, families, and staff.

  • Location: St Peter & St James Hospice, NorthCommon Rd, North ChaileyBN8 4ED
  • Working hours: 22.5 hour a week over 5 days (4.5 hours an afternoon)
  • Closing date: Early applications encouraged – we will shortlist and interview as applications are received.

This is a Permanent , Part Time vacancy.

What You’llDo:
