Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant to join Aire View Care Home in Leeds. You will support residents by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and laundry, following our SOPs and hotel-service expectations.

The role requires knowledge of health and safety, moving and handling, COSHH, and the ability to adapt to a range of tasks at short notice. DBS check will be required and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to care settings.
• Experience with moving and handling techniques in a care/home setting.
• Awareness of fire safety procedures and COSHH considerations.
• Ability to deliver high-quality housekeeping and laundry services.

About The Role

Your focus as Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are maintained.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.

Our Ideal Candidate Must Have

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high‑quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
• The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
