Job summary

Care Concern Group’s Old Vicarage Care Home in Clay Cross, Chesterfield, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant on a zero-hours contract. You will clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas and support laundry tasks, ensuring high hygiene standards to support residents’ comfort and dignity.

You will follow infection control and health and safety procedures while working with the wider care team to maintain a welcoming, well-organised environment where residents feel safe and respected.

The Old Vicarage Care Home is a modern residential, dementia, respite and day care home in Clay Cross, Chesterfield. Surrounded by beautiful mature gardens and excellent facilities, our caring team provides personalised support that helps residents maintain independence, comfort and wellbeing.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.85 per hour
• Contracted to 0 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
