Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to join our quality-focused care homes in the United Kingdom. You will maintain cleanliness and laundry standards across the home, following our procedures to ensure residents live in a comfortable, respectful environment.

The role requires knowledge of health and safety, moving and handling, COSHH, and the ability to be flexible to cover duties on short notice. An ADBS disclosure check will be arranged by Avery.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding cleaning requirements for different surfaces and ensuring areas are well presented.
• Respect residents' personal space and belongings at all times.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Housekeeping Assistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry are maintained in the home. You will operate according to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are maintained. Other responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
