Job summary

Forest Care Limited in Basingstoke is seeking a part-time Housekeeper and Laundry Assistant to maintain a clean, comfortable home for residents. You will clean rooms, handle laundry duties, and support hygiene and safety standards within a caring, team-focused environment.

The role requires previous experience in a similar position, a high standard of English, and access to transport due to location. DBS check is part of the process.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• High level of written and spoken English is required.

Responsibilities

• To ensure the clean and hygienic maintenance of the home.
• To keep a high standard of appearance to contribute to the quality of care and lifestyle for residents.
• To clean all allocated rooms including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
• To be aware of the health and safety statement and COSHH guidance.
• To clean sanitary and other equipment with attention to germs and infestation control.
• To report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that need maintenance.
• To manage waste bags and their proper disposal.
• To perform other reasonable duties as required.

Salary £12.86 per hour

This is a part-time position of 3 x 9 hour shifts a week, over various days, to include alternate weekends, 27 hours a week in total.

Main Duties of our Housekeepers and Laundry Assistants;

• To ensure the clean and hygienic maintenance of the home.
• To keep a high standard of appearance to contribute to the quality of care and lifestyle afforded to each care user. This is particularly applicable to each care user’s privacy and dignity and in respect of each care user’s personal possessions.
• To clean all allocated rooms including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
• To be aware of the health and safety statement and of the COSHH statement.
• To clean sanitary and other equipment, with particular attention to guidelines for the control of germs and infestation.
• To report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance or cannot be kept to standard through normal cleaning procedures.
• To deal with the waste bags and their prescribed disposal.
• To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.

Skills and Experience of our Housekeepers and Laundry Assistants;

• Previous experience working in a similar role
• High level of written and spoken English
