Job summary

Forest Care Limited is seeking a reliable Care Assistant at our Newnham home in Basingstoke. You will support residents with daily living tasks, assist with mobility and mealtimes, and help promote activity and well-being in a welcoming, family-style environment.

Shifts run 8pm–8am, 48 hours per week. We offer extensive benefits and training, with opportunities for NVQ progression. Commutable to the care home is essential and sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• NVQ qualification is desirable; full training is provided.
• Genuine willingness to care for senior adults in a care home.
• High level of written and spoken English.
• DBS check is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with dressing, undressing, bathing and toileting.
• Aid residents with mobility problems and other physical needs.
• Encourage mental and physical activity through conversation and activities.
• Assist with mealtimes when required.
• Read and write reports in case notes.
• Assist with medication administration as directed.
• Undertake other duties as required by line management.

We are looking for a reliable, caring Care Assistant who wants to make a difference by contributing to providing the best care possible at all times. Salary £13.10 – £13.76 per hour, depending on qualifications. Alternate weekend working will be required. Shifts are 8pm – 8am. 48 hours per week required.

Main Duties of our Care Assistants;

• Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet.
• Assist residents with mobility problems and/or other physical disabilities.
• Promote the mental and physical activity of residents through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, and any other hobbies that they might have.
• Assist residents at mealtimes if required.
• Read and write reports in case notes.
• Assist with medication administration as required/directed.
• To undertake any other duties as required by line management.

Skills and Experience of our Care Assistants;

• NVQ Qualification – (Desirable but not essential as full training is provided and NVQ training is available)
• A genuine willingness to care for Senior Adults within a Care Home environment
• High level of written and spoken English
