Job Opportunity: Housekeeper at Gradwell Retirement Village

Location: South Chailey, Lewes

Position: Zero hour contract - Bank Position, covering sickness and holidays. Working hours: 08:30 - 14:30, Monday to Friday

As a Housekeeper at our retirement village, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of our residents' homes and communal areas.

Responsibilities

• Performing regular cleaning tasks in residents' apartments, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Providing the highest standards of cleanliness and service.
• Maintaining cleanliness of communal areas such as lounges, dining areas, and hallways.
• Fostering and maintaining good relationships with residents.
• Reporting faulty or damaged equipment, laundry, or machinery to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Washing and ironing bedding, table linen, towels, and garments as instructed, following all instructions carefully.
• Upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the village.
• Using the correct cleaning products and equipment as instructed by manufacturers.
• Ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Complying with all health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in residential or hospitality settings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently and independently.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor.
• Sensitivity to the needs and preferences of older adults.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant training.
