Job summary

Cam & Uley Family Practice, Uley Surgery, is seeking a part-time housekeeper to join its cleaning team. The role focuses on maintaining high cleanliness standards, keeping audit-ready records, and restocking consumables at the small GP site. Training is provided for those without prior experience.

The position is 10 hours per week, with two hours daily Monday to Friday, on either morning or evening shifts. You will be the sole housekeeper for the site, ensuring compliance with safety and waste

Qualifications

• Prior cleaning/housekeeping experience preferred; training provided.
• Role is 10 hours per week, two hours daily Monday to Friday (morning or evening).
• Must keep cleaning records and follow National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleaning standards using recognised quality control procedures under the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021
• Follow the cleaning schedule set out in the Cleaning Standards and Schedule Policy
• Keep robust cleaning records for audit purposes
• Use correct cleaning methods and equipment safely, following manufacturers' instructions
• Replenish consumables such as hand towels and toilet roll to keep stock levels adequate
• Remove general waste in line with the Waste Management Policy and the environmental and sustainability policy
• Follow the colour-coding system for cleaning equipment, seeking guidance when unsure
• Store cleaning materials safely and securely under COSHH, HASAW and other legislation
• Report faulty equipment and defects to the Management Lead for Premises or Practice Manager as soon as practical
• Take part in cleanliness audits and follow audit action plans to address areas for improvement
