Pennygate Medical Centre is seeking a part-time evening domestic assistant to join the domestic team at a large GP practice. The role focuses on cleaning clinical and non-clinical areas to infection prevention standards, handling COSHH products and waste disposal.

The position involves 20 hours per week across weekday evenings, with four-hour shifts starting between 15:00 and 17:00. Prior cleaning experience is essential.

• Handle COSHH products safely and dispose of waste.
• Replenish consumables and report shortages.
• Maintain cleaning materials and complete schedules.
• Report hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and practice information.

Part-time evening domestic assistant post within the domestic team at Pennygate Medical Centre, a large GP practice. The work centres on cleaning clinical and non-clinical areas to infection prevention standards, handling COSHH products and disposing of waste. Hours are 20 a week across weekday evenings, with four-hour shifts starting between 15:00 and 17:00. Previous cleaning experience is essential.

What the job involves

• Clean and sanitise all clinical and non-clinical areas to daily, weekly and periodic schedules
• Dust, vacuum, mop and sanitise surfaces
• Clean treatment rooms, consulting rooms, offices, reception areas, staff facilities and toilets
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
• Use and store cleaning products and equipment safely under COSHH
• Remove general and clinical waste as directed, in line with infection control procedures
• Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels and toilet rolls
• Maintain supplies of cleaning materials and report shortages
• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed and documented
• Report hazards, defects, spillages, maintenance and cleaning concerns promptly to management
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and practice information
• Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role
