Job summary

Avon House, part of the Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, is recruiting a part-time housekeeper on a six-month fixed-term contract. The role covers inpatient areas, ensuring cleanliness to the national specification and involves preparing and serving patient meals and drinks.

The post is 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts across 7am–8pm. Strong verbal and written communication is essential; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Food hygiene certificate (nice to have).
• Cleaning or catering qualification (nice to have).
• Previous experience of cleaning and/or catering duties (nice to have).
• Experience in customer service (nice to have).
• Knowledge and understanding of COSHH (nice to have).

• Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness to the National Specification of Cleanliness.
• Prepare and present patient meals and beverages on inpatient areas following food hygiene procedures.
• Help maintain a safe, clean and relaxing environment for patients.
• Work as a member of the Estates & Facilities Team across all areas of the site, with a flexible attitude to meet service needs.

Job description

Housekeeper post in the Facilities Team at Avon House, part of the Tewkesbury Locality within Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. The six-month fixed-term role keeps inpatient areas clean and hygienic to the national cleanliness specification, and includes preparing and serving patient meals and drinks. Hours are 15 a week, Monday to Friday, in a team covering services from 7am to 8pm, seven days a week. Good verbal and written communication is essential, and visa sponsorship is not available.
