Abbeyfield Living Society in Sherbourne seeks a Housekeeper and Cook to provide nutritious, home‑cooked meals and a friendly, supportive presence for older residents. The role includes caring for wellbeing, handling issues as they arise, and assisting with budgeting and basic admin while offering full training.

You will work in Abbeyfield House, Coldharbour, Sherbourne, Dorset, on a permanent, on‑site basis and participate in a rotating schedule with two weeks of shifts.

• Cook for up to nine residents with attention to nutrition and comfort.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
• Deliver excellent customer service with empathy for older people.
• Basic computer skills; Outlook and Excel experience is a plus with training provided.

Role:

Housekeeper and Cook
Location: Abbeyfield House, Coldharbour, Sherbourne, Dorset, DT9 4HA
Hourly Rate: £13.61
Contract: Permanent
Rota: Week 1 Tuesday Wednesday / Week 2 Saturday Sunday 9am to 6pm

You can never underestimate the power a friendly face and a home cooked meal has on someone’s day. The role of Housekeeper and Cook is varied, with resident wellbeing at the forefront of what we do.

What We’re Looking For as a Housekeeper and Cook:

• Confidence in cooking for up to 9 people plus
• Strong organizational skills, ready to handle a variety of tasks
• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine understanding of the needs of older people
• Basic computer skills (Outlook and Excel experience is a plus, but full training will be provided)
